You can do all sorts of things or even just use the original thieve's cant. He can tell a barkeep that he needs to hide while out loud he is saying to ready a room for him and that he will be back that night. ![]() One of my players has a form of thieve's cant where he uses electrum pieces, given in specific ways to signal what he needs without saying anything. Each of the four-page segments following this page can be removed from the center of the magazine and folded and trimmed to produce a pair of pocket-sized translation diction-aries for Thieves’ Cant. I personally like having a specific type of code that the character knows. In my opinion this makes it a lot more versatile, and if you talk with your players/dm about it before the game, it can be very good rp fuel. So something that I often see forgotten is that thieve's cant is just code, not a particular language. Combat areas for every conceivable encounter. Eyes of the runekeeper might see a message in thieves cant but they will not be able to break the code on it, only see what its literal translation might be (kinda like how comprehend languages works).
